Staff Training (New and Ongoing). CBS Inc. will implement a competency based training to ensure quality behavioral services. Staff will undergo written and hands-on training. Once staff is able to pass CBS Inc. tests covering basics in applied behavior analysis with 80% accuracy, they will then begin the hands-on training. The hands-on training will consist of role-plays, observations, and demonstration of treatment fidelity. Following new staff training, staff will also receive ongoing training through once a month workshops, weekly overlap with behavior consultants, quarterly overlap with the clinical director(s), and attendance to professional conferences in related service area.
Where applicable and to ensure generalization of skills to job performance, each staff will be formally tested. The tests will include correct verbalization of instructional methods; 80% or above competency in simulated conditions (i.e. role-playing); 80% or above score on inter-observer reliability checks; and 80% or above score on treatment fidelity. Ongoing staff training will also occur during monthly staff meetings, and supervision sessions. Staff will be provided with research articles and will be encouraged and supported to participate in professional conferences at the state, national, and international levels. In addition all staff holding a certificate with the Behavior Analyst Certification Board will be required to obtain 36 hours of mandatory continuing education every three years in order to maintain board certification. This mandatory requirement will also ensure continued ongoing staff development.
